EXPERIMENT IN SELF PORTRAITURE

James Andrew - November

James Andrew – November

I apologize for the sporadic postings as of late. Hands have been full with design projects, and as usual it is a challenge to coordinate the right story, location, ensemble and photographer!

Over the years I have worked with so many brilliant photographers and through the process my understanding of photography has grown – how the camera reads me etc. My life in general provides me with ample opportunities for stories and I’ve no shortage of intriguing locations, and I always put myself together clothing wise – what remains a the final piece of the puzzle is having a photographer on-hand to capture what I envisage.

My super stylish friend Christopher Korey has become an Insta-star and he has figured out how to self-capture with actually rather striking results. Inspired by this, I’m looking to explore the possibilities of some self portraiture. I have the Olympus EPL8 and a 45mm lens on my holiday shopping list – Hopefully it will allow me greater ease and flexibility in creating posts on my own terms. In the meantime I’ve got my cell taking pictures on a little tripod, so bear with me!

With my first experiment in self-portraiture, a fall snapshot – I’m sporting a Tom Ford black and white hounds tooth wool tweed overcoat and white cotton shirt, black wool cardigan from Uniqlo, Michael Bastian red corduroy pants, vintage black alligator belt with silver buckle and black and white dot print silk scarf, Cartier “Tank Divan,” Tom Ford era Gucci black suede loafers, and my fragrance is Creed Cedre Blanc.
