Thinking Dr. Zhivago? This teal brushed cotton jacket by Gucci will be perfectly scrumptious on a crisp walk with the hounds or perhaps on a weekend romp to my favorite Connecticut Dacha.

Fall is fast approaching! This wonderful shift in weather always brings a sense of excitement – the changes in seasons feel like new beginnings, and new possibilities. I ordered most of what I was channeling for Fall almost 6 months ago and finally things are starting to arrive. I am going to post a few influences and must-haves for Fall over the next couple of days, and will be incorporating some of these pieces into new looks as we move into the new season!
A cognac corduroy suit by Gucci. I love this color and the way it works with so many different color combinations. It is a perfect, very warm, rich, neutral. Corduroy is also a versatile fabric that does well in rain and snow.
Kelly Wearstler is one of my design heroes, and was one of the major inspirations behind whatisjameswearing.com. I love her book, “Domicilium Decoratus”- it contains beautiful photos of her in fantastic dresses, all set within her gorgeous home. I, of course, bought the limited addition slip cased volume! I am pictured here in a room by Ms. Wearstler created to celebrate the launch of her fabulous line of fabrics for Lee Jofa. I love the blue ikat print fabric walls and the expressive painting.
I am wearing a white perforated leather jacket with black and saddle leather contrast trim by Gucci, white cotton shirt with black piping, silk/cotton hounds tooth pants, silver chain link belt, black python slip on shoes with a white leather bag all by Gucci.
