As I’ve mentioned before, I have a passion for fine books. I rely on them not only to inspire my own work, but to convey design ideas and share my passion for elevated living with my clients. I’m constantly adding new books to my library and, out of necessity, bookcases have found their way into every room of my apartment!
I recently stopped by the fabulous Van Den Akker Antiques gallery to see their latest offerings and fell in love with this “Libreria Centro” – a super chic revolving bookcase in rosewood first designed in 1960 by Claudio Salocchi and produced by Sormani. Standing like a monumental minimalist sculpture, it’s no wonder this piece has been acquired by the likes of style icon, Karl Lagerfeld. A grouping of four, one in each corner, would turn any room into a truly spectacular library.
I’m sporting a Gucci white and black window pane plaid cotton, wool, and silk jacket, gray and black silk polka dot pocket square by Turnbull & Asser, lavender Tom Ford end on end cotton shirt with contrast white collar, Seaman Schepps gray pearl cufflinks, white and black houndstooth pants in cotton and silk by Gucci, purple alligator belt with sterling buckle by Ralph Lauren, black, white and silver leather loafers, and white tote with green leather trim both by Gucci.
