James Andrew in the midst of the Starn brother's work entitled Bambú: You Can't, You Don't, and You Won't Stop.
I adore the Cantor roof garden at the Metropolitan Museum, and a private reception with sweeping views of Central Park never fails to excite me!
Twin brothers Mike and Doug Starn’s Big Bambú: You Can’t, You Don’t, and You Won’t Stop is currently gracing the roof garden – the massive semi-primitive structure has me thinking Swiss Family Robinson – or possibly a giant’s game of Pick Up Sticks! Part architecture, part sculpture, and part performance work, Big Bambú blurs the lines – it’s easy to become entranced by this continually evolving piece and it warrants many return visits as it is transformed and built upon throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall.
