I love the beauty and interest a fantastic wallpaper can add to an interior. Fromental has produced some of the most spectacular hand painted wallpapers available today. Of particular note are the 20th Century collection, inspired by designs from the 30′s to the 50′s, and the Chinoiserie collection painted on silk with unusual patterns like “lotus and carp” which gives one the sensation of being immersed in a fantastical coy pond! I’m suggesting the “Paradiso” pattern painted on saffron colored silk in a design I’m creating for a client’s townhouse dining room. Embroidery is another option offered to add even more dimension to these papers, and can be used to great effect.
Here I’m at the George Smith showroom, Fromental’s New York representative, enjoying the “Sylvaner” pattern wallpaper, and I’m seated on a rather exotic ottoman sofa covered in French blue mohair.
I’m wearing a white and charcoal pintstripe cotton jacket by Gucci, Hermes coral silk pocket square, a Tom Ford white cotton shirt with French cuffs, Seaman Schepps cuff links in shell with multicolored coral beads, lavender cotton micro corduroy pants, silver chain link belt and black, white and silver leather loafers all by Gucci.
