As one might imagine, it’s a thrill and an honor to be featured fairly regularly in Italy’s most prestigious newspaper, and I must say I’m particularly pleased with Gian Luigi Paracchini’s fabulous piece in Corriere Della Sera’s December issue of Style Magazine!

The question posed: am I the technological reincarnation of the Great Gatsby…has me totally tickled, and the bit about being an “elegant narcissus” blogger is pretty well on target. This little piece is so fun it makes me feel like my head is going to explode! Thank You Corriere Della Sera for your humor and accolades.

Click on the pic above for the PDF version. I AM hoping some of our Italian friends will be kind enough to translate the rest of the piece for us. Il mio italiano è molto scarsa!

Creel and Gow – Curious by Nature

The Upper East Side Creel and Gow is perhaps one of the chicest boutiques to open in New York City in years.

Here, the super-sophisticated duo, Jamie Creel and Christopher Gow, have taken a life-long love of collecting to curate the most marvelous mix of exotic and sublime. In the homogenized retail world we live in today, I can tell you, it’s hugely refreshing to find a resource for such original decorative pieces. There is something for everyone here—objects to “embellish one’s life,” as Creel and Gow aptly put it, that’ll surely bring a sense of fantasy, whimsy, and personality to any fine interior. Needless to say, decorators are having a field day here, and despite the over-the-top fabulousness of it all, many of their treasures are remarkably well priced!

Their boutique brings to mind visions of a Parish Hadley lux interior interpreted through the musings of a modern dayTony Duquette – it’s a veritable cabinet of curiosities…where everything is for sale!

As an added convenience for our friends around the world, Creel and Gow is available online for your consideration at: www.creelandgow.com

On a recent shopping spree at Creel and Gow (top), I’m sporting a Tom Ford rustic charcoal wool silk mouline priest hat, tweed “country jacket” with leather buttons and brown suede elbow patches, emerald plaid cotton shirt with French cuffs, teal wide wale corduroy pants, teal and blue silk pocket square and brown leather tasseled loafers, aquamarine and diamond cuff links, Gucci python belt with silver buckle and my fragrance is Creed Royal-Oud.

An Adirondack Adventure

James Andrew - Manhattan meets the Adirondacks

Looking for a quick and thoroughly gorgeous commune with nature? One needn’t search far here—with a bit of imagination (and you know we have no shortage of that), our very own New York City Central Park offers a nearly authentic Adirondack experience! In fact, Olmsted and Vaux designed “North Woods” with just this in mind…lively cascades, limpid pools, quiet wooded paths, and rustic mountain bridges all conspire to create the most dreamy, (and elegant) wilderness experience. For our Manhattan-meets-Adirondacks adventure, I was thinking Vanderbilt’s legendary Camp Sagamore, and as you might expect, I dressed the part! I’m sporting a Tom Ford era Gucci hunting jacket in olive with brown suede accents, Tom Ford brown and white micro check shirt with French cuffs, vintage Scottish agate cuff links, Ralph Lauren wool challis tartan tie, chartreuse python belt with silver double horse head buckle, Uniqlo slim cargo pants in khaki brushed cotton poplin, the chicest of ALL wellies, Le Chameau, and my fragrance is Creed Epicea.
