ISLAND HOPPING: AMANDA LINDROTH DESIGN

I don’t know about you, but this time of year has me longing for the tropics, and not just any tropics either. I’m thinking about the impossibly chic bastion of elegance, old world manners, and charm that is Lyford Cay.

I was introduced to Lyford Cay through my splendid friend John Fondas and through him I met the most marvelous people – like the exquisite Amanda Lindroth, who welcomed us into her home with warmth, grace, and a good dose of tropical glamour. These people just get everything right!

Needless to say, I’m thrilled to share with you Amanda’s most terrific tome, Island Hopping: Amanda Lindroth Design.

Lindroth can certainly be considered the duchess of Island decoration and design, and her tome suitably celebrates her work, conveying a relaxed, carefree, and independent spirit.

Her book reads more like a fascinating narrative than typical books on design – more autobiographical in a way, sharing what has informed her aesthetic throughout her life.

  1. Lyford Cay is the chicest place I have ever seen in “The Tropics” (my mother used to call it).
    Honestly, it is beyond.
This book is the most wonderful showcase of the understated chic of this lovely, lovely place!
Our daughters married young men whose family were members there…..(two daughters married brothers…)so we were lucky to visit a few times!

This is a wonderful book about a wonderful place by a wonderful decorator!

    Brava James!

    My Dear Penelope,

It really is one of the last bastions of old world charm, elegance and grace.

Amanda and her take on understated tropical splendour is rather tremendous!

I have not been to Lyford in a few years – over due for a trip to “The Tropics”

Trust you all are very well!

    Much Love
