James Andrew at the Coqui Coqui Hotel - photo Scott McBee
Choice of hotel is an integral part of any trip, and as you’ve come to expect, I always seek out lodging that captures the essence of a place.
Enter Hotel Coqui Coqui.
A favored destination for yoga enthusiasts, hippies, expats, and international jet-setters alike, the Coqui captures exactly what Tulum is all about.
Sure, one could go to far more luxurious places, but we were drawn to the low key, laid back vibe of the place for our heliophilic getaway. In fact Hotel Coqui Coqui is exactly the boheme-lux sort of place one would hope to find.

Nicolas Malleville
Dreamed up by Nicolas Malleville (Argentinian botanist, model and landscape architect), the Coqui Coqui is the summation of his (and our own!) deepest childhood beach fantasies. A modern conflation of colonial and rustic Mayan, the place provides the perfect vantage to enjoy the most glorious beach and turquoise sea. Staffed by family members and their friends, the Coqui feels like a private home with that personal touch and attention to detail one doesn’t find often. This little hotel is also just steps away from some of the best restaurants in Tulum, making it an effortless thing to enjoy your super chic “hippie” holiday. A couple of days spent here, listening to the sea breeze, and you can kiss all of your frenetic city cares goodbye.
Perhaps a bit over-dressed for Tulum, but for effect, I’m pictured here in the gorgeous little courtyard of Hotel Coqui Coqui sporting a Tom Ford pale pink silk jacket and brown and ivory Glen plaid silk pocket square, Prada brown and white paisley cotton voile shirt, Gucci python belt with silver buckle and leather and woven fabric flip flops, Uniglo white jeans, vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch and my fragrance is Eau d’Italie, Paestum Rose.
That’s not just a great photograph – it’s a story..
Lovely Leo,
Thank You!
This is exactly the kind of response we were wanting to get!
To add an other worldly almost vintage ethereal quality to these images.
Cheers and Hugs

Are you a Ford Model or a Zoli Man ?

Dear Nico,
Thank You!
I had such a marvelous time sharing this holiday in Tulum.
Starting with the video post on my wardrobe selection , then composing the pictures and selecting the various locations.
I had the photos colored to look like photos from the late 1970’s.
I look forward to your continued feedback and support!
Cheers
