My idea of the perfect Hamptons weekend is all about enjoying the country—spending time at the beach or lounging pool side in the company of friends.
In reality, the Hamptons has become more of a suburb of New York City. It is not the retreat it once was. Now there are constant parties and benefits, an ultra wide variety of shopping, and some rather fantastic restaurants as well.
Of course, ultimately it is up to each of us to create the kind of experience we want, and given the rather spectacular settings at our friend’s homes we were quite pleased to embrace some of the simpler things in life, i.e., reading, relaxing, and al fresco dining on fresh local produce over fine bottles of Rose wine.
Dressed to celebrate our own brand of Hamptons happenings, I’m sporting a Tom Ford “Spencer” jacket in rose silk linen, black and white stripped cotton shirt with French cuffs, black and white silk pocket square and “Marco” sunglasses, a white and black silk satin polka dot bow tie by Le Noeud Papillon, vintage coral and shell cuff links, white cotton shorts by Mario Matteo, Ralph Lauren black alligator belt with sterling buckle, black, white and silver leather loafers by Gucci, vintage Rolex watch and my fragrance is Creed Orange Spice.
