A James Andrew Spring Ensemble
If you are anything like me, and you live on the East Coast, I’m sure you are quite over all of this ghastly weather and very much looking forward to spring! And while you are daydreaming of a bright new season (whether it’s just around the corner, or as I fear, weeks away), it’s still a wise idea to start to prepare one’s wardrobe for a sartorially splendid spring.
For me, spring conjures up images of lovely pastel Ladurée confections, and I’ve found that these lavenders and pinks add a wonderful freshness to spring fabrics as well. Which brings me to our friends at Le Noeud Papillion who have rather generously provided me with a jump start on spring with some beautiful bow ties and pocket squares in just such colors. I’m also wild about boutonnieres and our friends at Fort Belvedere gave me the super chic pink silk carnation I’m wearing (at top) to complete this lovely ensemble — icing on the cake, so to speak.

My Le Noeud Papillion pochette
I’ve also included a detail image above of my Le Noeud Papillion silk pocket square with a drop-dead gorgeous Belle Époque inspired screen print (which ties in quite nicely I think with my Parisian tea salon theme!).
Dreaming of a delicious spring day, I’m also wearing a Tom Ford grey hemp, silk, and linen jacket, lavender and white striped shirt, a bit of Tom Ford Bronzing gel to dispel the worst of my awful winter pallor, and Creed Original Cologne—the most perfect compliment to any ensemble.
A New York Spring is worth waiting for!
Dean
James, your dapper spring attire would warm up any winter day, there is no doubt. You look so fetching in spring colors and your grey jacket! The Fort Belvedere, silk carnation is a delightful touch and thank you for showing the detail on your Le Noeud Papillion pocket square! Belle Époque inspired elegance!
Spring shall find you soon and we will all be the better for it, because we know we can count on you to share all the colours of your rainbow. I do look forward to more of you, all wrapped up in spring, James. XO
My Dear Dean,
It is indeed!
Thank You!
Cheers

Gorgeous as always, a celebration of colour! Ah, it is so perfect for you, a gentleman of La Belle Epoque, (j’adore La Belle Otero). And on your scarf “La Belle Dame Sans Merci” …do beware, oh handsome one, not to be lulled like Keat’s knight at arms…unless it’s a martini, very dry, of course! xo
GORGEOUS INDEED!
That outfit will open the heavens and spray some sun down upon you!I feel bad as we are having no winter at all here on the WEST COAST!WE desperately need rain and snow in the mountains! So, we can send it down the pike to Los ANGELES!But thats another story!
YOU LOOK STUNNING as per the NORM………….(STUNNING my word!)
XOXO
My Darling La Contessa,
Ah yes the sirens – makes me think of This Mortal Coil song to The Sirens:
On the floating, ship less oceans
I did all my best to smile
Till your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving into your eyes
And you sang, “Sail to me
Sail to me, let me enfold you”
Here I am, here I am
Waiting to hold you
Did I dream you dreamed about me?
Were you here when I was flotsam?
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks
For you sang, “Touch me not
Touch me not, come back tomorrow”
Ohh my heart, ohh my heart
Shies from the sorrow
Well, I’m as puzzled as a newborn child
I’m as riddled as the tide
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Or shall I lie with death my bride?
Hear me sing, “Swim to me
Swim to me, let me enfold you”
Here I am, here I am
Waiting to hold you
Yes – a very dry martini please!
Love
JA
