A Room Envisioned

Rich saturated colors can really add excitement and a bold glamor to a design; seeing this extraordinary bright orange lacquered “Arbus” style buffet from the Pascal Boyer Gallery got me thinking about its great potential as a dining room focal point. To make the colors in this dream room really resonate, upholstered grofage chocolate linen velvet walls might be just the thing. Add to this vision a modernist dining table with gilt bronze base and glass top surrounded by painted antique white and bright chartreuse upholstered Louis XVI oval back side chairs. Overhead, a Bagues rock crystal chandelier would be truly magical – and just above the buffet perhaps a large 50s gilt iron Jansen sunburst Mirror would create that perfectly opulent accent. Finally, for a floor treatment, the geometric Chateau de Groussay inspired silk carpet I designed for Doris Leslie Blau would be the quintessential statement of luxury. – A Quite splendid vision! – n’est-ce pas?

By a happy coincidence, my outfit compliments this magnificent buffet quite well. I am wearing, a Gucci camel hair top coat, a Mackintosh Scotland brown corduroy vest lined in orange nylon, camel silk turtle neck, striped wool scarf, oatmeal corduroy pants and python loafers all by Gucci, brown suede gloves by Sermoneta and a brown suede and leather satchel by Gucci.
