James Andrew Design - Mosaic House
A quick update: we’re deep into the development phase for Scott McBee’s maisonette interior, and currently sorting out the details for his bath area!
As you may recall, I found quite a lot of inspiration on our fairly recent trip to Marrakesh—and I was particularly taken with Jacques Garcia’s exquisite re-invention of La Mamounia. Bahia Palace was also high on my list. With that marvelous mix of marble and Moroccan tiles in mind, we’ve set out to create a touch of Morocco in Manhattan! We’re incorporating pale blue Moroccan tiles with carrera marble—perhaps with a Moroccan plaster work frieze below the crown molding—and the ceiling potentially stenciled in a large scale Moroccan fretwork pattern. All very subtle, but definitely adding a bit of exotic elegance to the overall effect.

One of my very favorite sources for Moroccan tiles here in NYC is Mosaic House - I dragged McBee in recently to have a look at some terrific samples, and we’re now well on our way to selecting just the right materials. For our outing, I’m sporting a Tom Ford camel cashmere/silk blazer ,silk plaid pants, a brown and white mini hounds tooth check shirt, brown leather belt, brown leather tasseled loafers, brown and ivory silk glen plaid pocket square and “Cyrille” sunglasses, shell and coral cufflinks, Rolex, and my Hildestahl “Valfrid” tote. My fragrance is Tom Ford “London.”

Too divine James!
You look so smashing in the Moroccan light…

Hi there Darling,
On my 50th which will be 2 years ago in October - a little BDay gala for myself.
So much inspiration to be had there- so now incorporating some of these elements into Mr McB’s maisonette.
So will be sharing bits- but one has to be careful to not offend the magazines by giving too much away - or It will not get published.
Much Love
JA
Damn, that second picture is incredibly sexy. You look hot and I’m sure you felt it! So confident and strong! Woof!
Hi there George,
Yes it is amazing what a brilliant photographer (Gabriel Everett) can capture and I was thrilled and blessed to have him with me on that incredible journey to Marrakesh.
Cheers
JA
