James Andrew at the Donzella gallery.
I’ve been a huge fan of Paul Donzella for many years, in fact my own drawing room features a fantastic oak, bronze, and mirrored console that I acquired from Donzella more than 16 years ago. Donzella has distinguished his gallery by featuring, as he himself describes, “works by important yet under the radar designers, artists and architects.” His initial focus was on American artists and designers and he’s definitely played a major part in creating markets for brilliant pieces by TH Robsjohn-Gibbings, Paul Laszlo, Edward Wormley, Paul Frankl and Tommi Parzinger to name a few. Donzella has recently turned his attention towards Italy, particularly post war works by a mix of important as well as lesser known architects and designers, creating a unique and highly stylized mix with a bit of an eye toward the irreverently whimsical.

The Mediterraneo cabinet by Roberto Giulio Rida.
I’m especially taken by these Mediterraneo cabinets by Italian designer Roberto Giulio Rida executed in antique cobalt mirror and applied “waves” of multi-colored crystal - really spectacular jewel like pieces that would add just the right touch of ultra glam to any fine interior.
As you might imagine I’m thrilled to hear that Donzella is curating an exhibition to showcase the Milanese Roberto Giulio Rida’s super luxe work - all the pieces are either one of a kind or in very limited editions. The exhibition will run from May 13 through July 17 with a reception for the artist on May 12 at Paul Donzella’s Tribeca Gallery -17 White St, New York City.
More about this not to be missed Rida exhibition in an upcoming post.
Paying a visit to my friend Paul Donzella’s showroom, I’m sporting a smashing ombre, turquoise, purple and black paper thin leather jacket by Gucci, Richard James shirt in white and black cotton stripes with contrast white collar, Seaman Schepps cuff links in precious turquoise, black skinny jeans by Diesel, purple alligator belt with sterling buckle by Ralph Lauren, black python “Playboy loafers by Gucci, and my fragrance is Creed Royal Water.

Grrr…
That’s one dangerously sexy pic, James… Your hot clean-shaven mug is the perfect foil to that cool cobalt chest!
Wow! That gallery seems amazing! And I love the cabinet! Having interesting acquaintances is always great! You have to show us the console in your drawing room.
I love the shirt and the pants.
Un abrazo fuerte,
James !
Fabulous !

Dear James!
Maybe there would be some nice possibility for WIJW readers to see the whole collection of your wardrobe taken together? Considering to your designer talent, your wardrobe MUST be fixed also very tastefully and this would be so exciting for fashion fans (as most of WIJW readers implicitly are) to see the huge amount of your clothes - shirts, jackets, pants (also shoes) etc. nicely arranged and hanging on the tabs, probably in the special room (asume that at least one for all is needed 🙂 )
In some ways similar to the post of your ordinary activities (where’s taken a shot of You in the shop for buying some products), this would better describe your everyday life and also would be great insight in your own world of passion&fashion!
For sure most of the readers are thought about „what’s look like? how he handle that?” and would be very impressed if you can share this to us! 🙂
I love love love the cabinet! I’m definitely going to visit Donzella!
Pitty you went beardless again, liked the look on you!
Love the new, shaved you. Brilliant choice of clothing and furniture.
That piece looks amazing, I love the curly details. It seems you’ve changed you haircut or maybe it’s just the picture effect… Anayway, you look great as usual!
