WHAT IS JAMES WEARING? Rotating Header Image

I first visited Palm Beach in the 70’s, and ever since, the Mizner designed Worth Avenue with its Mediterranean feel and many connecting Vias continues to be one of my favorite destinations.

Alas, Worth Avenue has changed quite a bit, becoming more of a Rodeo Drive with an overabundance of jewelry stores and hideous art galleries — and sadly no Tom Ford boutique.

That being said, happily one can still find unique shops and boutiques that capture the classic Palm Beach of yore. A few of my favorites: Trillion – one is greated by a rainbow of cashmere sweaters there; the retro chic Kassatly Inc. (Fine Linens & Lingerie) located at 250 Worth Avenue where I always snap up Madeira ladies in lingerie cocktail napkins which I think make a most perfect hostess gift; the Leta Austin Foster boutique at 64 Via Mizner certainly has one of the most sublime selections of homewares; Mary Mahoney who has a plethora of marvelous tabletop collections along with quite a range of other items.

And after all of that shopping do stop at Pizza al Fresco or perhaps Renato’s for a lovely and restorative luncheon — both have splendid outdoor dining – which is exactly what one wants in Palm Beach!

Enjoying this elegant enclave, I’m feeling very Windsor, making a grand promenade. I’m sporting a Tom Ford era Gucci navy cotton pique jacket, Tom Ford navy cotton dot print shirt, vintage red and royal linen pocket square, Uniqlo white slim jeans, Ralph Lauren red alligator belt with sterling buckle, vintage Rolex, Gucci white leather loafers and tote bag, Tom Ford, Neroli Portofino fragrance, and Tom Ford bronzing gel for a sun kissed glow.

  1. Dean says:

    You look great, as always!
Very Happy Holidays to you and McBee. Billy was just in NYC, and I wish that he had time to see you while there- but perhaps you were in PB or elsewhere! So sweet to mention dear Leta- she offered me a job with her prestigious decorating firm many years ago- and I often think I should not have turned her down! However, if not for moving to Naples and visiting with Albert, I may have never had the immense pleasure of meeting YOU!

  2. My closest friend lives there and I came home in 1968 covered in Lilly and those cool sandals that are now jack Rogers!! Those courtyards are divine!

Leta’s store is the best!!! As is her website!! (Decorating with sheets!!!)

  3. James Andrew says:

    My Dear Dean,

I adore Leta and her delightful blog!

Certainly one of the chicest shops left in Palm Beach!

So why Naples then ? I could see you in PB.

  4. James Andrew says:

    My Dear Penelope Bianchi,

    Eternally chic you are !!!

Any photos of you clad in Lily ?

    All my best!
