West Side Detail

I have been getting quite a few jobs on New York’s upper West side, and have been taking advantage of the inspirational details I encounter on my walks to these projects. Here, I have stopped to admire a terrific classic Art Deco urn and pedestal. I would love a pair of these to flank one of my doorways! The bolection molding around the window behind me would be terrific for door and window surrounds, and the horizontal ribbed banding on this building would be another wonderful effect executed in plaster. These types of details are brilliant for transitional type interiors – from modern to more traditional, preferably a mix of both.

Going for a bit of the English country gent here – nylon box quilted hunting style jacket with brown suede trim by Gucci, a Tom Ford brown cotton shirt with contrast white collar, vintage moonstone cuff links and a wool dusty olive with brown windowpane tie by Ralph Lauren, grey wool flannel pant by Gucci, python belt with silver double horse hrad buckle by Gucci, brown leather “Chelsea” boots by Gucci, brown suede and leather satchel by Gucci and sunglasses by Dior.
