Vanity Fair – Editors’ Picks – Vote for yours!

Here we are now in month two of Vanity Fair’s International Best-Dressed Challenge, and I’m rather thrilled to have been given the distinction of Editors’ Picks three times already—a pretty tremendous honor especially given that the editors in question are the super chic Amy Fine Collins and the always dashing Reinaldo Herrera.

A big Thank You to our readers for their tremendous support, effort, and enthusiasm…certainly this nod from VF would be quite a thrill! I do still need your support though, so remember to stop by this Vanity Fair link every couple of days. Scroll through the Most Popular Gallery, searching out photos of yours truly and then click click click on those hearts! We’ll love you for it!

  1. Marc de Paris says:

Dear James, you deserve to win. I have already clicked several times, and noticed very nice women but no man being a serious challenge to you. I think that the exhibition about “Impressionnism and fashion”, coming from the musée d’Orsay, must be at the Metropolitan Museum of Art now. Have you seen it?

  2. James Andrew says:

    My Dear Marc,

    Thank You!

It would be so divine to win this contest, such a tremendous honor and accolade to be part of The International Best- Dressed List.

I will be sure and check about the “Impressionism and Fashion” exhibition.

  3. CD says:

    James’ Vision: 20/20

In the current International Best-Dressed Challenge of Vanity Fair, there seems to be a surprisingly modest range of dress codes and a limited spectrum of styles in relation to the kaleidoscopic grammar of fashion and the language of photography.

Yet who can surpass the paradigmatic model so fluently, flawlessly and consistently crafted and excelled by James Andrew? James so excellently personifies that very trajectory between the lavish fashion design catalogue and the tangible world of design as such—architecture, interiors, furniture, art, clothing, lifestyle accessories, perfumery, public spaces, nature and travel are habitually integrated and time and again rendered visible through What Is James Wearing? Whether it is an image captured in the opulent private library of J.P. Morgan or depicting him on a 1931 Harley Davidson motorcycle, James is the absolutely unmistakable representation of contemporary refinement—often with a nod to a vanishing history.

  4. My dear James,
Looking through many of the entries I am shocked how jejune and meagre are their imaginations as expressed through dress. Frankly, you are far too good to consort with such folk.
Meanwhile, back in Ireland I am working to see how soon we can bring you and your style over here. Will be in touch soon…

  5. James Andrew says:

    My Dear Robert,

I often wonder the same thing- this contest goes on until June- so let’s see what happens- it would be rather tremendous to be part of the International Best- Dressed List.

I have so been enjoying the homes that you have been sharing on your site – The Irish Aesthete – makes me want to move to Ireland and rescue one of these masterpieces.

I am forever falling in love with houses- looking forward to having one soon.

I am quite excited about this trip to Ireland – it would be brilliant to perhaps do a post on these homes that are in need of rescue as well.

  6. Valentino B says:

  7. James Andrew says:

    My Dear CD,

    You are so very delicious!

All your comments and feedback are just beyond sublime!

I am hoping that the editors who will ultimately decide the wining man and woman share your brilliant knowledge of fashion, history et al.

Thanks for all your hearting, liking and clicking!

  8. James Andrew says:

    Hello Valentino B,

    Thank You!

I have to be careful to not let my ego get the best of me and whatever happens to remember to not look outside of myself for acceptance and approval.

  9. cinquième says:

You’re so interesting! I do not suppose I have read through anything like this before. So good to discover another person with a few original thoughts on this issue. Really.. many thanks for starting this up. This website is one thing that’s needed on the web, someone with a little originality!

  10. James Andrew says:
