James Andrew at Trinity House - photo Gabriel Everett

Paul Cezanne "Arbres," 1798
Of particular note is a jewel of a Monet—a portrait of Waterloo Bridge which he at first reluctantly sketched in pastels, (his paints having been held up in customs). Happily for us, it was not long before he enjoyed becoming reacquainted with the medium.
Very few of these pastels by Monet have survived, and most of them are in museums. What a gorgeous opportunity to own one of these sublime treasures!

Much of the exhibition focuses on a selection of important British paintings by the likes of Sir Alfred Munnings and George Stubbs. The smart looking “Portrait of a Gentleman on a Gray Horse” by Stubbs once belonged to Paul Mellon. Nicknamed “the galloping Anglophile,” it has been said of Mellon that “it took an American collector to make the English look again at their own paintings.”

We are also in love with a Roberson & Company walnut lay figure of a horse and rider.

Roberson and Company figure.
I was quite overwhelmed by the beauty of the exhibition, but equally impressed by the fact that the super stylish owners of Trinity House, Steven Beale and Simon Shore managed to fare and even thrive in the stormy financial climate of the last decade. A true inspiration to bet on one’s dreams despite all. They have three galleries—in Broadway Gloucestershire, Mayfair London, and finally now in Manhattan, where they continue to offer works on the very highest tier with a specialty in Stubbs, Constable, Degas and Monet.
Enjoying this exquisite exhibition (and the Stubbs behind me), I’m sporting a Tom Ford era Gucci pieced cognac suede jacket, brown wool tweed biker pants, python belt with silver double horse head buckle and brown leather “Chelsea” boots, Tom Ford cotton Glenn plaid shirt with French cuffs and purple wool knit tie, and vintage moon stone cuff links. My fragrance is Creed Vintage Taborome.
Dex Dexter, is that you? I love the Stubbs. Gravitas and an animal who’s muscular tension makes it so masculine. See also the amazing equine puppets in the new London production of War Horse…

I love the pants you’ve got on…where can I get a pair?
Nick,
Thank You!
They are Old Gucci – loved this idea of a motorcycle pant in tweed- think I should have my tailor copy them.
Cheers

Thanks! I guess I’ll have to keep checking eBay for a gently loved pair then since I haven’t seen anything quite the same from Gucci in their recent collections. Although you’re right that it wouldn’t be tough to have a tailor copy the cut and fit
Fantastic suede? Coat. Details on designer , cost, etc?
Thanks
Hello Glenn,
