The Master’s Drawings

On view now at the very stylish Gerald Bland Gallery is a collection of sketches by legendary interior designer Albert Hadley. Representing decades of iconic interiors, these drawings, or “scribbles” as Hadley calls them, offer a rare glimpse into Hadley’s design process as he explores possibilities and searches for solutions.

When I was a designer at Parish Hadley I had the great pleasure and privilege to study Hadley’s working methods first hand and on a daily basis – Now, in my own work, I constantly draw upon the extraordinary lessons I learned during my time with him. Head over to Gerald Bland Gallery and snap up a few of these masterworks before they are all gone.

I am wearing a stunning white and black perforated Gucci leather jacket with saddle trim, and a Gucci Kelly green cotton French cuff shirt, a black and silver silk stripe tie by Charvet, black and white silk/cotton hounds tooth pants, silver chain link belt, black python “Playboy” loafers and white tote with Kelly green leather trim all by Gucci, Seaman Schepps cufflinks are black pearls.

  1. Do you need matching socks to go with that shirt? Looks like it would match exactly with my “Amazon Tree Frog” colorway, which was SUPPOSED to be both green AND yellow, and would have been, if I hadn’t gotten overzealous squirting green dye into the kettle to “mute” the yellow. [sigh]

However, I doubt it’s an exact, exact match. Colors vary from monitor to monitor. Yada-yada-yada. But it’s nice to know that color is out in the cosmos, being worn by adventurous and discerning people. đŸ˜‰

  2. I really like your hair in this shot. You remind me a bit of Colin Firth.
