The Fifth Wall

A ceiling is an oft overlooked space for adding interest and drama to a room. I frequently have low ceilings lacquered to create the illusion of height and reflective infinity. I’ve also used raffia, holographic silver vinyl, wallpaper, and many other treatments to make ceilings really sing.

I’ve always been fascinated by the vaulted ceiling at Grand Central Station here in New York City. Its sumptuous blue-green color creates a rich backdrop for the work of the brilliant French artist Paul Helleu, who’s zodiac designs are based on medieval manuscripts. I was thinking that it would be fantastic to apply something similar to client’s ceiling .

Visualizing an entire room based on this spectacular ceiling, I am wearing one of my Spring/Summer must haves – my very glam Gucci nappa leather bomber jacket with a turquoise, purple and black sprayed wash finish, Tom Ford french cuff shirt in lavender cotton with contrast white collar, vintage moonstone cuff links, Diesel white skinny jeans, Gucci silver chain link belt, black, white and silver leather loafers and white leather bag both by Gucci, and Dior sunglasses.

I am dying for this jacket. When I saw it on the hanger I wasn’t totally sold, then you told me you bought it and I gave it a little more credibility, but now ON, I.DIE.
