I’m a huge fan of the work of interior designer Michael Simon. With a museum curator’s knowledge of 18th century French decorative arts and expertise in multiple design idioms, Simon integrates the most exquisite elements from the past into interiors that are both forward thinking and totally right for how people want to live today.

Needless to say, Simon has amassed a rather spectacular collection of the best in classical French antiques. And now, luckily for us, Simon is in the process of editing his collection in order to make room for new acquisitions and is offering a brilliant selection of pieces at an upcoming Christie’s auction (Tuesday 7 June 2011)

It’s an extraordinary chance for collectors to procure pieces that have met Simon’s high personal standards—I’ve included a few of my favorites to tempt you. This is a not to be missed auction, and I look forward to seeing many of you there!

  21. Eric Kipp says:

I can’t help but to notice a color story developing from the pictures in this post. It looks like Michael Simon has great ability in finding amazing pieces, however you look as though you already live in the world he was trying to create. I think that already speaks to your ability as a designer and how you are able to relate the environment to the subject (and vice versa) I would be very interested in participating in an auction that you curate.

Bold patterns done in a way that is still classic and elegant.
    Well Done!

    Best Regards,
    Eric
