A visit to the Lee Jofa showroom.
I’m bringing chintz back! Sadly it seems the the use of chintz has fallen somewhat out of vogue in decorating, but I’ve never tired of its charm and beauty.
When decorating for a client who has a more traditional aesthetic I will often base a whole decorating scheme on one amazing floral chintz. In a manner similar to that of the legendary Billy Baldwin, I prefer to use chintz sparingly – say, on just a few chairs and pillows and then pull together a gorgeous palette based on the selected chintz. I then like to mix in some contemporary art and more modern furniture to create vibrant and glamorous rooms that feel fresh and current.
Here at the uber chic Lee Jofa showroom I’m showing off the “Floral Bouquet” chintz in white – a Sister Parish’s favorite. It’s been mentioned more than once that my style is reminiscent of the iconic Cecil Beaton – certainly a compliment that I am all too happy to receive!
I’m wearing a black and white windowpane plaid jacket with black and white mother of pearl buttons by Gucci, black on black silk plaid pocket square by Ralph Lauren, Richard James shirt is black and white cotton with contrast white collar, vintage moonstone cufflinks, Dior shocking pink jean cut pant, Gucci belt in black patent leather with silver leather trim and grommet holes, silver leather sneakers are Dior.
I love that dash of pink! You dress really well. Love your style…and I feel your love for Gucci after looking at your pics:-) Keep it up. I am a fan now.

James ! WOW ! Great shot, very inspiring. I also love chintz, and am glad to see that you are not averse to it. It is a classic, just as you are.

So nice to see someone breathing new life into a less than fresh design idiom – and the crown fits!
This is my favorite photo of you ever! Love the colors and adore the chintz almost as much as I adore you!
