POSITIVITY RULES

James Andrew

James Andrew

A little something on rants and rules:

The truth is, I don’t consider myself the end all and be all when it comes to ideas on style and taste — of course I do have my occasional sartorial tantrums here on WIJW! The fact is we all have a way of doing things, but my idea of paradise might not be for you!

My darling friend Penelope Bianchi left me a rather fabulous comment recently, with the notion of focusing on just the positive aspects of life — to not worry about the lack of beauty and manners that seems to pervade the modern world, but to focus on where these things still exist. I found her words rather beautiful and empowering and thought it rather share-worthy:

I am happy that you are “fairly appalled” at the dress wherever you are! Being a “visual person” my entire life (if it were not for my mother; I would think this was not unusual!!)
I have been kind of horrified at the dress….of the masses. I decided TODAY to “turn over a new leaf”!!
I detest negativity!! (I don’t love mediocrity much; but my most unfavorite is “negativity”!)
My new leaf!! on my blog, on my comments on other blogs…in my conversations….and in general in my mind!
negativity: immediately banished!!
positive and lovely things: noticed, remarked upon and recorded!
There are far to many lovely, positive, beautiful things in this world…..not to have them noticed and celebrated!
ugly things if ignored (like trolls will fade away)
My new leaf!!
James Andrew is always positive! He is leading my way!!
Bravo!!!

What a marvelous approach to life, lovely Penelope! I am so grateful to my dear friend for reminding me — we really must continually try to let go of
negativity. What a much better way to approach life. The truth is, we CAN look for beauty and beauty appears!

Celebrating a splendid day I’m sporting a Tom Ford grey silk, linen, hemp jacket, grey and white linen cotton voile gingham shirt, Ralph Lauren orange silk pant and orange suede espadrilles, JKP belt, grey, orange and fuchsia silk pocket square by Pochestte-Square, vintage Rolex , Tom Ford glasses and my fragrance is Creed Royal Water

James, Penelope is right on target, and positivity is my mantra as well. It takes so little to spread kindness and light out into the world!

You look great by the way!

    James,
Orange is the colour of optimism!
Optimism is a fabulous, contagious point of view!
It, like orange, radiates energy and light-

Recently, someone has been sending anonymous negative comments to me regarding my design blog. How sad, when I make such an effort to focus on inspiring people, places, and things. There are people, many in fact, who love to wallow in misery!

I decided to publish the snarky comment, and then replied to it with a very positive message! POSITIVITY RULES, indeed!

James, I admire your fashion bravado tremendously! You are a bold man of fashion and I admire your wild and adventurous spirit. Especially, in terms of color! One has to be so confident and a superstar to pull off your great fashion sense.
Your friend, Penelope Bianchi makes complete sense and I can learn from her approach to life. Recently, I was exposed on the news to some things that temporarily traumatized me and made me think about what a cruel world this can be, but perhaps the way to deal with the sadness it left me with is to look towards what is right, just and beautiful in this world. “Focus on the good,” as you have posted about today.
Your Tom Ford grey jacket, grey and white gingham shirt and Ralph Lauren orange pant, look so marvelous on you! Grey and orange is such a perfect pairing, as we can see here on you.
Thank you for your always stimulating blog!

  4. OH! I was gobsmacked that you quoted me! Yikes!!

    My Dear Karena,

    Indeed!

I may have got a bit off the path with my rant and wanted to make a correction. Penny’s wonderful words were exactly the reminder that I needed- to get back on track.

    Cheers

    Dear Dean,

Orange is a very powerful and healing colour – no wonder the Bhuddist monks wear orange.

I love that you elevated your energy by not responding back with negativity.

We make a choice to react – or include negativity in our lives.

    Well done!

    JA

  9. James Andrew says:

    My Dear George,

We all need reminders from time to time and Penny’s words were exactly what I needed to hear!

Thanks for all your love and tremendous support!

  10. James Andrew says:

    Well my darling Penelope Bianchi,

Thank You for the tremendous gift of your friendship!

Your love and light continue to inspire me!

Perhaps my own frustrations caused me to go a bit off track- thank you for helping to bring me back.

Do you read the Abraham-Hicks- Daily Quotes ? This one came out right about the same time you left your lovely comment:

The best way to accomplish an improved environment is to focus upon the best things about where you currently are until you flood your own vibrational patterns of thought with appreciation, and in that changed vibration, you can then allow the new-and-improved conditions and circumstances to come into your experience.
Look for good things about where you are, and in your state of appreciation, you lift all self-imposed limitations (and all limitations are self-imposed) and you free yourself for the receiving of wonderful things.
    —Abraham

    Genius!

    Much Love!

  11. James Andrew says:

    My Dear La Contessa,

Yes – what a better way to approach life – bitching and complaining are not very productive.

By contrast- spending more time in an energy of gratitude and appreciation we will instantly change our vibrations and find ourselves in a better place to attract more of what we want.

    Much Love

    JA

  12. I am so lucky to have found you and Penelope years ago…what an inspiration to live well and think positive! I was also so lucky to have a mother who enjoyed life every day, no matter what, until she suddenly passed away at 92…

  13. James Andrew says:

    My Dear Brillante Interiors,

I am so happy to hear!!!

What an amazing gift to have had a mother such as yours – mine not so much!

    All best,

    JA
