It seems that it was just a few weeks ago that I shared with you my post on Park Avenue Autumn, and I hope many of you had the opportunity to indulge your senses here since then. While we loved Park Avenue Fall, I’m pleased to to present its latest incarnation – a crystalline Park Avenue Winter!

Snowy white lacquered moldings with inset fur panels, coffered ceilings and custom light fixtures of icy glass – the soft white punctuated by birch branches, raw leathers, and white-washed woods – all serves to transport one to a serenely sensual Zhivago-esque landscape – certainly a welcome relief from the oft overstated seasonal aesthetic.

The meal:
– we started the evening with one of the new signature Winter cocktails called a Moscow Mule – a glorious concoction of –
42 Below Vodka, Served on the Rocks
Topped with a Ginger Foam
42 Below Manuka Honey Infused Vodka, NZ Manuka Honey
which is made from bees who feed on the “Tea Tree”
and is known to have anti-bacterial properties.

Our sampling of delicious appetizers included – The carmellini challenger toasted meatball slider, roasted beet & comte tart and hamachi sashimi with a tangerine vinaigrette.

For our main course we shared the Chateaubriand – a perfect winter dish – accompanied by mini potato latkes and Brussels sprouts with roasted apples- washed down with the Park Avenue Winter RED- a “trinity” blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. We topping it all off with the delightfully decadent Chocolate Cube and the coconut angel food cake paired with a crisp rose champagne- bliss!

With the recent closing of many upper east side favorites like Payard and La Goulue, Park Avenue Winter is the restaurant of choice for the discerning and sophisticated set. With its original interiors and creative cuisine it offers a fresh approach to the classics, and will appeal to the old and new guards alike!

Do stop and experience Park Avenue Winter for yourself – I look forward to running into some of you here!

Dressed for the occasion, I’m sporting a winter white wide wale cotton corduroy jacket, white cotton shirt with french cuffs, gray flannel pants and silver chain link belt all by Gucci, Silvery gray silk tie Charvet Paris, silvery gray silk pocket square by Turnbull and Asser, vintage moon stone cufflinks and silver leather sneakers and glasses (on table) Dior. Brrrr! That look made me so cold that Dr. Thickness shrunk up a little in my silk underpants. Whoa mule!

An upscale space odyssey! The attire to quickstep at the Ritz with the footwear for an Apollo moon walk. Bravo again, James!

Did you say toasted meatball slider? Watch it now, Jimmy! Let’s leave the gelatin in the pate and not on the tum tum. Christmas already has one jolly, round fella.
