James Andrew at Le Colonial.
With its ceiling fans, lush flora and palm trees, black wicker dining chairs, elegant carreaux de ciment tiled floors, vintage French musical strains, and the most delicate and refined cuisine, Le Colonial is a lasting homage to that beautiful tenuous 20’s meeting of two disparate worlds in French Colonial South East Asia. But beyond the seductive dream-within-a-dream ambiance at Le Colonial, (which certainly appeals to us hugely), we are happy to report that their Chef Xuan Pham takes Le Colonial’s patrons’ health quite seriously.

Cuisine at Le Colonial.
Take for instance the Rau Ram, an herb in her Banana Blossom Salad – It’s a Vietnamese coriander and a natural cleanser for the body and an anti-inflammatory; The Rau Om in her Canh Chua Tom (sweet & sour shrimp soup) is a digestive stimulant similar to cumin seeds; La Lol, or Wild Bettel Leaf wrapped around grilled fillet Mignon – it’ an antiseptic and tooth-strengthener; And Rau Kinh Gioi in the Bun Cha Hanoi grilled pork entree – a Vietnamese balm/mint that calms the stomach. I dare say, we’d prefer to have all of our remedies taste so good!
Of course we can only recommend that you visit Le Colonial yourself! Located on East 57th, its quite handy – whether you are uptown or downtown bound!
Vibing with the aesthetic at Le Colonial, I’m sporting an ivory and charcoal striped cotton and silk suit by Gucci, a shocking pink cotton shirt with contrast white collar and french cuffs by Turnbull and Asser, Seaman Schepps gray pearl cuff links, Tom Ford silk pocket square , Gucci silver chain link belt and black, silver and white leather loafers, Cartier “Tank Divan” from Raj Tolaram and my fragrance is Creed Zeste Mandarine Pamplemousse.
What a beautiful place.
Next time I’m in NYC I have to go there.
I checked out their website and they are also in Chicago and San Francisco.

James, 1 of my favorite restaurants. Sean took me there a few years ago and since has been a NY treat for us. Love it. Thank you for sharing. xo
I’ve always wanted to go there. Now I should definitely go. Thanks for the info.
This place sounds a lot like Indochine on Lafayette St. I guess you’ve been there James. I love that place.
Luces guapísimo y todo lo que describes suena exquisito, me encantaría ir pronto por allá!

This is the right place for US!
Es gibt nichts schöneres als ein gutes Essen in einem tollen Restaurant, ich kann mir gut vorstellen dass das Essen dort super ist!
Me encanta cómo se ve todo, las flores, todo el ambiente es magnífico, pero principalmente tú!
besos,
María
Sounds good. Had never heard of this place.
I love to go to Indochine when I am in NYC, but this seems to be a worthy alternative.
Thanks for sharing!

soon
I have never been to the one in NY but I have been to the one in San Francisco. I am friendly with the owner – Randy. I am sure the NYC spot is just as good if not better.
Good Post 🙂
You look great ! Must be the cuisine…
