It’s already time to think about Spring/Summer 2010!
I’ve been coveting these super chic Lanvin sneakers for almost a year so when I saw them recently at Bergdorf Goodman I opted for immediate gratification and snapped them up. They’ll mix in nicely with the fantabulous looks I’ve planned for the upcoming season, contributing that signature touch of playfulness you’ve come to expect from us here at WIJW. Can’t wait to wear them for you!

I have really been enjoying your blog, it’s great! One question though, you must have a ton of closet space, or you are good at recycling your out of style outfits!!! Seriously, where do you put everything?

My Dear! Those are mighty DOPE!
I love your style and would gladly wear 99% of what you select. I take a size 40-42…please forward your castoffs! However I beg to differ on these Lanvin sneakers. The 1″ band around the periphery of the shoe looks vastly better when it is a colour of the shoe, in this case brown or beige, not white. Your clothes are elegant, and you can get away with atheletic inspired footwear when the band is darker and/or matches/coordinates with the shoe. When it is white, it looks too obvious, casual, sporty, juvenile, and doesn’t have the extra refinement necessary to go with your very urban and sophisticated clothes. A few years ago I bought several pairs of a similar suede sneaker by Converse. They are the One Star model, and came in beige, grey, powder blue, and airforce/teal blue. For that season, they were made with soles and the periphery band (don’t know what it is called) in the same shade. I found I was able to wear these with sport coats, bomber jackets, and neckties as you do, but when I tried sneakers with the usual white edging, I couldn’t abide the look. Unfortunately the current models of this shoe returned to a white band around. Your outfits are super. Reminds me I have to get to Gucci more. And Paul Smith.
