James Andrew at the Hotel de Rome in Berlin
When planning an adventure to a foreign land, certainly one’s choice of hotel will shape a huge part of one’s total experience. As you can imagine, I do a great deal of research, and I always discuss options with my most well traveled and elegant friends before selecting just the right hotel. Among my many criterion – impeccable style, tastefulness, location, and personal service rank high – and of course I look for a place that will truly capture the essence of a place. I am happy to say that all of these many qualities were present in the magnificent Hotel de Rome. It’s surely the best hotel in Berlin!

Hotel de Rome
Hotel de Rome is on Bebelplatz, a large scale, historic square which will put you just a few minutes from some of Berlin’s most fantastic sites, including Museum Island, the Brandenburg Gate, as well as some of Berlin’s most outstanding restaurants and shops. The ultra lux Hotel de Rome is located in a grand former bank building, and ingeniously preserves many of its original elements, while, of course, incorporating all of the luxuries one would expect from a world class hotel.
The brilliant staff at the hotel’s concierge virtually guarantees a rich and most fulfilling stay in Berlin, and they’ll help you avoid long cues while getting the most value for your money — this has got to have been the finest concierge service I have ever experienced! We were also quite pleased by the substantial breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant Parioli which you’ll want to have before launching into an exciting day of exploration.
I’m pictured (top) standing in the spectacular entrance foyer of the Hotel de Rome, flanked by a gorgeous grouping of monumental red lacquered urns resting on steel bases – in fact, much of the decor here — including the polygon motif carpets seen throughout — is nicely reminiscent of our favorite David Hicks!
I’m wearing a black wool flannel peaked lapel jacket by Gucci, a cotton blue and green tartan shirt with contrast white collar and french cuffs by Turnbull and Asser, Seaman Schepps black pearl cuff links, forest green cashmere tie by Borrelli, white and green retro print silk pocket square by Charvet, Diesel black skinny jeans, Gucci silver chain link belt, Lanvin high top sneakers in black suede with green patent leather and my fragrance is Creed Bois de Portugal.
Estás divino James!!!!

it’s great to look for a place that will truly capture the essence of the place.
I love that look. It is both put together and comfortable.
Would you consider adding Beladora.com to your resource blog roll?
Darling
it was cristal clear that you stayed at the Hotel de Rome – the Adlon is just to bling bling these days. I hope you went the very posh cocktail party at the Russian Embassy and had lunch at the Milchkanne
Francois,
Sadly no invitations to the Russian Embassy!
Cheers

Please let me talk you into getting rid of sneakers forever, especially those silver Lanvin numbers I’ve so often seen in other posts?. Your wonderfully polished look is fabulous sans sneakers. For me? Your adoring public? Please? 🙂
Hello MarcR,
Thank You for your feed back!
I have to say I do enjoy the playful ,youthful quality that a sneaker adds to an outfit.
So I am sorry to disappoint you but you will no doubt see sneakers as part of the mix.
I have some wonderful looks coming up from this Berlin trip where I am sans sneakers- so do stay tuned.
Cheers
James
