In my never ending search to find the most perfect pictures for the interiors I’m creating for my clients, I’m always excited to make studio visits and check out special exhibitions. And when I’m celebrating a collection of a brilliant artists like Edward Granger, I’m doubly thrilled.

After a lovely brunch with friends in town, I coaxed everyone out to Brooklyn to meet Granger who is currently participating in the Gowanus Open Studios program. Needless to say it was well worth the short journey!

From the Artist:

At once composed and formless, I owe an obvious debt to the Fauvists’ supremacy of color over form, an aesthetic approach in harmony—or is it tension?—within these structurally informed compositions. My background in architecture is evident is my compositions. Their controlled fluidity is an intentional effort to create something at once structured and formless, but also allowing the process to happen by chance. My works are about being synchronized in time and space. My intent is to allow my work to act as a vessel to receive a conscious awareness of these subconscious events of daily life, which embodies one’s abnormal physical and psychological stages.

We’ve got some bold ideas for future collaborations with Granger on upcoming projects, and we’ll be sure to keep our WIJW informed. Do stay tuned!

For my photo with Granger (top), I’m sporting a Tom Ford era Gucci navy velvet jacket, Tom Ford pink cotton glen plaid shirt, slate blue flannel pant, Ralph Lauren black alligator belt with sterling buckle, vintage Pucci pocket square in blues and pinks, pearl and pale blue sapphire cuff links , Gucci black leather tasseled loafers, vintage Rolex and my fragrance is Tom Ford Neroli Portofino.
