Most of an interior designer’s time is spent on the hunt for gorgeous and unusual things for clients — antiques, art, fabrics, etc. — and massive projects with enormous lists of objects to track down can often be a bit overwhelming!

A remarkably innovative website for designers and dealers, Design Valet, is about to alleviate a great deal of that stress. At Design Valet, designers simply submit lists of what they are looking for to the “Live Design Exchange” section and dealers from around the world respond with offerings that match the designers’ criteria. Imagine the time, effort, and energy that can be saved when dealers also become one’s own personal shopping assistant!

And of course it’s a pretty sweet service for dealers as well — instead of just sitting on pieces in their shops, galleries, and warehouses for days, waiting for designers to happen upon them, dealers can now be pro-active, bringing specific wares directly to the designers — and let’s not forget this’ll be a global network. E-commerce is nothing new, but this is e-commerce at its most efficiently wonderful. Needless to say, I’m really quite excited about the idea. It’ll be pretty marvelous to be lounging pool-side in Lyford and have dealers come to me with well considered one-of-a-kind things (that I very likely would have missed) for my projects and clients! If this sounds like your kind of thing too, do pop over to the website and have a sniff around Design Valet to learn a bit more about this marvelous new Trade Only website where designers and vetted dealers can engage in real time. You can thank me later! đŸ˜‰

To celebrate the launch of Design Valet and to get a glimpse of many of the gorgeous objects at one of my favorite antiques dealers, George N, I’m sporting a Tom Ford amethyst, grey, and purple window pane wool and silk tweed jacket and black and white striped cotton shirt, antique moon stone cuff links, Etro wool challis scarf, Turnbull and Asser grey and black dot silk pocket square, Polo Ralph Lauren purple cotton corduroy pants, Tom Ford era Gucci black leather tasseled loafers, vintage Rolex, Paul Stuart grey suede gloves, Creed “Himalaya” fragrance, and Tom Ford bronzing gel for a sun kissed glow.
