David Duncan Antiques

Am back in NYC now, refreshed and making my rounds! A recent visit to see the haut antiquarian, David Duncan provided me with, (and I know this is going to sound impossible), more glam than I was prepared to handle.

Just a quick post tonight to give you a glimpse of what I’m talking about.

The outrageously beautiful French Directoire style Lit à la Polonaise bed below once belonging to the legendary Bunny Melon, and would be the ultimate centerpiece for a super chic guest bedroom.

Rock Crystal Parrot Lamp

I adore rock crystal – so when I saw Duncan’s glorious lamps I started speed dialing clients! (Duncan also has a pair of Chinese figural lamps not shown) – these are magnificent even without provenance, but the fact that they once graced the iconic style maven Gloria Vanderbilt’s sitting room – well that is just beyond fabulous. Have included below an image from Vogue Decoration clearly showing this amazing set of lamps in context.

Here a glimpse of the rock crystal lamps in situ from a picture in Vogue Decoration.

Stopping for a second to catch my breath in front of the David Duncan boutique, I’m wearing a pieced cognac suede jacket by Gucci, a Turnbull and Asser turquoise and white striped cotton shirt with contrast white collar and french cuffs, Seaman Schepps turquoise cufflinks, white skinny jeans by Diesel, silver chain link belt, python loafers and brown suede and leather satchel all by Gucci.
