China Syndrome

Seeking out fine china and unique objets de la table has been a bit of a life-long obsession for me. I do love setting a table—creating compositions of the best china, crystal, silver, napkins, candle, sticks and serving pieces I’ve collected over the years—and it’s the only way to present a delicious lunch or dinner to friends and family. Oh, and one doesn’t need to be a Rothschild to amass a fantastic collection of china either; most of my pieces were found on ebay, flea markets, junk shops, Christie’s sales, etc., and all for outrageously low prices.

I thought it would be fun to share a few highlights from my collection. There are certainly many more patterns that I’m on the prowl for, though, if I buy any more, we might just have a China Syndrome style melt-down here at WIJW headquarters! What are some of your faves?

Exciting product category! Love your collection as well. Trends had become so casual, and so did people’s efforts at entertaining. Great to see that that the carriage trade never let go of the need for fine china, and it seems to be regaining interest in the mainstream! I love to find pieces in the secondary market, but I’m happy to see the industry is still so strong. I love what people are offering and producing today. Thanks for sharing your love of table top!

  2. Well done!
    Brilliant eye as usual.
Refreshing to see what people are creating these days!

Glad to hear the collective consciousness is leaning back to a more elegant sensibility in the worlds of fashion, decorating and entertaining.

Very Happy to share here on WIJW?
