James Andrew, Lincoln Center, fashion week - photo Gabriel Everett
I do get quite a few invitations during fashion week here in New York, however, between my busy interior design business and WIJW related work, I have to be selective. That being said, the Chadwick Bell show at Lincoln Center was one show I was very glad to have seen.
“Fashion must be the intoxicating release from the banality of the world,” so go the words of the incomparable Dianna Vreeland, and Chadwick Bell’s Fall line with what he describes as a “…perfect woman in an imperfect situation” as its basis, certainly captures that transcending quality, that “intoxicating release,” and with a good dose of the visceral at that—this woman Bell has imagined, is by no means a wilting flower; she’s chic, elegant, but definitely of this world. Bell makes it look effortless, infusing everything with a good dose of glamor and allure, and a touch of danger, that together, make for a thoroughly mesmerizing spectacle.

Celebrating the brilliance of Chadwick Bell at Lincoln Center I’m sporting a Tom Ford suit in a olive wool silk tweed over check, pale blue cotton shirt with contrast white collar, brown suede lace up shoes with brown crocodile cap toes and “Nicolo” sunglasses, brown wool tweed tie by Ralph Lauren, Charvet brown and blue silk pocket square, vintage moon stone cuff links, brown suede and leather satchel by Gucci, vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch and my fragrance is Creed Bois du Portugal – photos by Gabriel Everett.

James, you look marvelous. Just my taste too.
Be well. -Scott
I’d go to any couture show with you wearing that outfit!
Well played James – impeccable style.
Dear Matt,
Your kind words always bring a big smile to my face!
It was quite a scene when I arrived at Lincoln Center for the show- there were many photographers who shared your sentiments- I must have been photographed 20 times.
Cheers

James,
I really love this crisp look you are presenting. Also I was thrilled to learn of Chadwick Bell, thanks to WIJW! I do think that Fairchild or Time Warner should buy out WIJW for at least 100 million don’t you agree?

Dear Dean,
If only- wouldn’t that be fabulous?

James.
Stranger things have happened! Just ask Mark Zuckerberg!

You and the ensemble look great. Although, I personally feel it would all come off better if you did not over feminize the photo with the bag in the crook of your arm, but instead had it in hand hanging naturally at your side.
this suit, this photo, PERFECTION.
Hey there Glenn,
Thanks for your feedback!
However I don’t view the feminization of something as a negative thing.
So many men today are overly concerned with assigning things gender or sexuality.
I like to challenge these ideas and not limit myself or my choices.
Cheers
JA
I guess it is a fashion thing, Mostly associated with women or gay men trying not to limit themselves. Or trying. Challenge or no challenge.
But you may not want to end up like victoria beckham and have your arm permanently locked in that position.
I think your great regardless.
With that pose, Maybe if you had a cell phone or something in that hand I’d be cool with it. It would work better for ME.
If we replaced you in this photo with fashionable guys like Sinatra, Cary grant, Obama, Tom Brady, Tyson beckford, brad Pitt, p diddy, pat Riley, Bono, or so on it would look pretty daft..but Marc Jacobs, I have seen that before with a swim suit on. Challenging ideas, I think not, but maybe his style.
Dear Glenn,
I saw that photo of Marc Jacobs wearing a speedo with a big Hermes purse- very funny!
Cheers
JA
Hmmm…
I wonder if he wears a speedo under his manskirt?
