In such cases, I prefer to get all the architecture and backdrops right first, and then I introduce finishing pieces when the client is ready. In this way, I am able establish the overall tone and gesture of a space with some degree of “completeness” all along the way, while creating a physical context upon which to find or manufacture the definitive crowing elements. For the Luxe / Minimal project that I shared with you in November, I recently found the perfect piece at Hudson Furniture – an incredibly handsome console table realized in reclaimed Claro walnut and plexi glass – Eco-chic! (well, at least partially). Above this console will hang a fantastic Mary Henry painting to complete the effect. Will post more on this when the elements are all in place.

I was feeling the need to brighten a rather dreary New York City winter day. Nothing can do that better than the impossibly crisp, bright, look of an all white ensemble. I am wearing a wide wale ivory corduroy jacket over an ivory cashmere turtleneck sweater both by Gucci, white skinny jeans by Diesel, and silver leather sneakers and sunglasses by Dior.

I was blown away by his “Atlantis” chandelier – this striking reinvention of a classic chandelier with its jewelry quality nickle chain draped over a polished nickle frame is – Genius! I can’t wait to use this remarkable piece.
