My magnificent Montauk project is coming along quite nicely. A truck load of the most gorgeous things is on its way and I’m looking forward to a day of decorating!

In preparation over the past week, I’ve been visiting all my favorite dealers to fill in the missing pieces. I nearly fainted at the David Duncan gallery when I saw the set of chairs Duncan found for my self described “Surf Shack Chic” project. It goes without saying my client snapped them up right away! I love when things run so smoothly! These Samoth Mott chairs will be positively perfect for the rather large seaside deck we are designing.

David Duncan Antiques is always one of my first resource stops, as he indubitably has the right thing for me, whatever the stylistic direction a project might be taking.

I look forward to sharing some wonderful images of my Montauk project in the not too distant future – we’re planning another major photo shoot on location with the brilliant Lars Stephan.

I’m wearing a pale beige silk, linen, wool jacket by Gucci, Tom Ford brown end on end cotton french cuff shirt with contrast white collar and brown suede and leather tasseled loafers, Charvet brown and blue retro print silk pocket square, Seaman Schepps pearl cuff links with pale blue sapphires, python belt by Gucci, pale blue jean cut pants by Uniglo, sunglasses by Lanvin, Cartier vintage “Tank Divan” from Raj Tolaram my fragrance is Creed Royal Water.

Just coming off the President’s day Holiday weekend, I’m reminded of my intent to decorate the Obama White House. Not sure why this has not come about, but I’m having a grand time fantasizing! One cannot help but wax a bit nostalgic about the Kennedy era, when, with the help of Stephane Boudin of Maison Jansen, the White House was restored to its original splendor – I’d definitely continue in this spirit – but I’d like to bring the White House into the twenty-first century by showcasing the works of some of our most brilliant twenty-first century artists, photographers, and designers. This would make the most perfect statement – we respect and value where we came from and yet we are open to embracing where we are now and where we our going!

English Regency Bulls-Eye Mirror Great Britain. Circa 1830 An English Regency bulls eye mirror surmounted by an eagle having a ball suspended from chain and dropped by carved and ebonized wood dolphins and shaped ogee molded edge with ball finials. Brass girandole candle arms with cut glass bobeches are draped with crystal drops.

For the more classical aspects of my White House I’d start looking for material at the super chic David Duncan Antiques – these fabulous busts of Lincoln and Washington I’m pictured with set the mood for our post President’s Day Post, resting on a pair of Swedish Neo-classical square pedestals, flanking a French Charles X period mahogany console and topped with an English Regency bulls eye mirror, the whole grouping really would make our presidential fantasy sing!

President Busts Late 19th century. American plaster busts of President Lincoln and President Washington.

(top) All of this has me feeling rather presidential in my Tom Ford amethyst window pane tweed jacket, Turnbull and Asser gray and charcoal silk pocket square, Richard James white and black cotton striped shirt with contrast white collar, Seaman Schepps charcoal pearl cuff links, gray flannel pants by Gucci, purple alligator belt with sterling buckle by Ralph Lauren and black leather “Windsor” loafer by Yves Saint Laurent, my fragrance is Windsor by Creed.

I love creating something that clients never dreamed possible (or possibly never knew they wanted)! – The challenge is to produce a cohesive statement that reflects the tastes of the the clients – creating an environment that not only soothes and comforts but elates and inspires the spirit.

An indispensable part of being a successful designer is having exceptional resources – one such resource lies at East 60th Street here in New York City – there you will find a brilliant collection of some of the finest antiques and decorations – some of my favorites like David Duncan, Ann Morris Antiques, John Salibello Antiques and many more – Most of these suppliers are only available to the trade – so hire a decorator and create something extraordinary together! Almost every spectacular project has been the result of creative collaboration! You can play Louis XIV and I’ll be your Louis Le Vau – and I know where we’ll find an André Le Nôtre to help us with the garden – lets make your Versailles visions a reality!

I’m here on East 60th Street shopping for several clients wearing a Ralph Lauren silver ski parka, teal cashmere turtleneck sweater by Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen herringbone wool tweed cargo style pant, Lanvin teal suede sneakers, Gucci black leather tote and glasses, Sermoneta purple leather gloves.

I love a fresh blue and white palette. Its a classic scheme with universal appeal and you’ll often find me using it in my interior design work – in fact I’m just now creating an uber chic take on this color scheme for a new client of mine. I’ve turned to David Duncan for a few select items as he always has the most stylish and fabulous offerings. Happily for me, I found all that I needed here to get my new design off to a most brilliant start!

A pair of Neo Classical style open armchairs in silver gilt upholstered in a gorgeous blue ikat.

Sitting amongst the stunning collection I’ve culled from Duncan’s treasures (at top), I’m wearing a dusty pale blue suede biker jacket, pale blue cashmere turtleneck, and blue, gray, black and forest green check wool/cotton pants all by Gucci, black leather “windsor” loafers by Yves Saint Laurent, forest green leather gloves by Sermoneta – my fragrance is “Windsor” by Creed.
