You push me
To go the extra mile
You push me
When it’s difficult to smile
You push me
A better version of myself…
Whenever I hear these lyrics by Madonna, I’m inspired to strive to BE that better version of myself – to keep on keeping on despite the occasional obstacles along the way. We here at WIJW do strive to evolve and refine and we count our blessings every day. With a readership now hailing from one hundred and fifty seven countries and territories, we must be doing something you like! In any case we do want to thank you again for your continued visits, and hope that you are managing to keep your head up as well in the face of the many challenges life presents.
I’m pictured here on my way back from a fairly dreary morning of jury duty, but I’m feeling rather buoyant after a good chat over lunch with my friend the very talented artist/photographer Nicholas Turner. Turner has had incredible response since the post we did on him a few months ago, and reports that he has sold several paintings and is being offered shows in Berlin and London! – Lucky for me he had his camera in hand for our impromptu meeting and caught this photo of me in City Hall Park.
I’m sporting a black wool flannel pealed lapel jacket, a forest green plaid glazed cotton shirt, mini houndstooth wool pants, silver chain link belt, black suede and leather slipper style shoes, and black leather tote all by Gucci, a Charvet Paris white and forest green silk retro print pocket square and glasses by Dior.

stylish and delightful. as always.
i love those pants they are super cool
James, What a nice post this is. You inspire me very much!
Excellent, like that plaid mixed in.
Very chic James. The plaid works very well, and I love the jacket. So many men bury the cuff of their shirt under the fabric of their jacket, thinking that is the proper way. It is eons more stylish to have a little bit of cuff showing like you do! Men of the world…take note. Women of the world who help their men dress…also take note.
your blog is famous around the world darling!
We all are making our best effort to evolve too dearest James and your helping us a lot in that quest!
I keep driving my red Monaco and thinking of you!
Love you for being that way!
Hi James, Love the Belgian loafers… Ugh JD is SO DREARY ! But, somehow you seem to make it seem chic and socially conscious…
BRAVO JAMES ! Madonna would be proud !
Dean

Unfortunately, Madonna’s “Papa don’t preach” is still my theme song! O’well, my very conservative father has continue to preach+nag… and I’m not his teenage child anymore~sigh*
